Release notes

Amiga Imager v0.88

A tighter v0.88 release focused on more dependable Classic builds, cleaner RTG setup, and better behaviour on Vampire SAGA systems.

  • Beta release
  • Safer Classic RTG setup
  • Better Vampire SAGA handling

Beta - macOS 14+, Apple Silicon and Intel. Current downloadable build: 260520.

What's new

v0.88 is a focused polish release for Classic users. It makes RTG-enabled builds more predictable, improves Vampire SAGA behaviour, and reduces the chance of package-selection edge cases showing up in the finished image.

  • Safer Classic RTG setup - named RTG cards such as VA2000, ZZ9000, P-Vision, and Vampire SAGA now avoid carrying an extra generic Picasso96 monitor that could confuse display setup after boot.
  • Better Vampire SAGA handling - Amiga Imager now avoids the generic MMU fast-memory overlay path on Vampire SAGA builds and chooses the right Picasso96Settings variant more intelligently.
  • More reliable package matching - package aliases such as RysMKII and RysWheel are matched more consistently, which helps Classic builds land the expected supporting software without manual cleanup.
  • Cleaner Classic asset handling - local-package and download-only flows now behave more consistently in a few remaining Classic asset lookup paths.

Why this matters

For most users, v0.88 means less first-boot troubleshooting on Classic systems. If you build for RTG hardware or experiment with Vampire-based configurations, the output should now be easier to trust and easier to bring up cleanly on real machines.
