Amiga Imager v0.89

A reliability-focused update that makes partition setup safer, streamlines the PiStorm Picasso96 path, and keeps the app focused on the settings that matter while building.

  • Beta release
  • Safer partition handling
  • Revalidated on real PiStorm hardware

Beta - macOS 14+, Apple Silicon and Intel. Current downloadable build: 260522.

What's new

v0.89 is a reliability-focused update for Amiga Imager on macOS. This release makes partition setup much safer, improves error handling around partition resizing, and simplifies the PiStorm Picasso96 workflow.

  • Safer partition setup - partition creation and layout handling are now more defensive, which reduces the chance of ending up with a broken image before first boot.
  • Cleaner resize failure handling - partition-resize paths now fail more clearly and more safely instead of leaving users guessing about what went wrong.
  • Simpler PiStorm Picasso96 flow - the PiStorm-specific Picasso96 path has been reduced to the pieces that matter, which makes the current setup easier to trust and easier to maintain.
  • Cleaner generated system image - Installer now lands in SYS:System, where AmigaOS users expect to find it.
  • Less build-screen clutter - the Image & Build section has been trimmed so the app stays focused on the settings that matter during a build.

Validated on real hardware

The current PiStorm path has been revalidated on real systems, including successful tests on A600 + PiStorm16 + FrameThrower and A1200 + PiStorm CM4. For users building current PiStorm images, that is the most important signal in this release: the workflow was checked again on actual hardware, not just in theory.

Why this matters

v0.89 is not about adding noise. It is about making the build path safer, easier to understand, and more predictable when you are preparing a system you actually want to boot on real Amiga hardware.
